  2. Alerts

    Hear about what matters.

Alerts for a person, a pet, a vehicle or, on Android, a parcel. And for sounds like a smoke alarm, breaking glass or a baby crying.

Where your video goes.

Two phones, talking to each other. Our server only helps them find each other.

Everything a good camera does.

Knows a pet from a person

Detection runs on the camera phone, so an alert says what it saw. Choose which kinds alert you, per camera.

Sound alerts

Smoke alarm, glass break, baby cry, dog bark, cat meow, doorbell, car alarm, siren, scream and knock.

Talk back

Hold to talk through the camera phone's speaker. Answer the door or calm the dog.

Share a camera

Send an invite link and choose what they see: everything, or live view only.

As many as you have

Add every old phone in the drawer, up to 50 cameras on one account.

No face recognition

It tells a person from a pet. It never tries to work out who the person is.

What leaves the camera phone.

Live video
Goes to the phone you watch from, directly or through our relay in Germany. Encrypted either way, and never stored by us.
An alert
A short notice through Google's push service: what was seen, on which camera, and when. Never a picture.
Recordings
Nothing. They stay on the camera phone, sealed with AES-256, until you or the phone delete them.

No analytics SDK and no face recognition. , including what we do not claim.

Questions, answered plainly.

When can I get Vigilens?

Vigilens is coming soon to Google Play and the App Store. It is not in either store yet.

Does my video go to your servers?

No. Live video goes straight between your phones. When they cannot reach each other directly, the encrypted stream passes through our relay in Germany, which cannot see the picture and keeps nothing. Our server only helps the two phones find each other.

Does the camera phone need to stay plugged in?

For recording around the clock, yes, like any camera that records all day. Leave the spare phone on its charger and Vigilens keeps recording with the screen off.

Which phones work as the camera?

An Android phone works as a full camera: it records in the background with the screen off and comes back by itself after a restart. An iPhone can be a camera while Vigilens is open on screen and the phone is unlocked. Both work as the phone you watch from.

Does Vigilens recognise faces?

No. There is no facial recognition and no face detection in the app. Detection runs on the camera phone and only tells a person, a pet, a vehicle or a parcel apart, and recognises ten household sounds.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. Guest mode links two phones with a code or a QR code, no account needed. It lasts up to 4 hours and saves nothing.
